Alexandria Virginia is know for its quaint streets, picturesque houses, and tree lined sidewalks. With its proximity to Washington, DC, its become a popular home for families and singles alike. However, even the most desirable areas have houses that need updating, interior painting, and the help of professionals. Our project of the month is one of those cases.
This project consisted of painting all surfaces in several rooms of the house. In addition to painting multiple rooms in this family home, there was a considerable amount of wall paper removal, we refinished bookshelves, and painted vaulted ceilings. We used Sherwin William’s Super paint and ProClassic.
Vaulted ceilings offer a particular challenge to paint, not only because of their height, but they usually receive an extraordinary amount of light. This makes color selection extremely important, in addition to proper paint selection and application. Any area of your house that is receiving lots of light needs to be taken extra care of. We love this updated modern gray.
Although the pink and blue worked at one time for this little girl’s room, it needed a bit of updating. Blue and green were still colors that made it a fun kids room, but without the cotton candy hues. These diffused colors make the room more of a relaxing place to be.
Dining rooms are such an important part of creating a warm, inviting home. Meals are shared here with family and friends alike, so its important to create a space that is comfortable, and convenient for everyone. Using grey in the dining room for home painting is a great way to add subtle sophistication, without being overbearing. We love the white crown molding details, and the built-ins which present the perfect opportunity to add that personal touch.
