In the world of interior painting, there’s really no such thing as ‘best’. As you can imagine, we’ve come across all manner of weird and wonderful interpretations of what represents an inspiring interior paint job over the years.
What some consider to be a gorgeous interior color combination others would physically shudder at the sight of!
Still, we’re not the types to judge and we’re always happy to oblige. At the same time, we’re also committed to helping our customers enhance their interiors with elegant and timeless paint jobs that look great indefinitely.
In which case, there are certain colors and color combinations we recommend for specific rooms of the home – the bathroom being no exception.
With this in mind, here are just a few pointers you may find helpful if planning a bathroom makeover at some point in the near future:
Bold and Beautiful
First up, it’s worth remembering that the bathroom is one of few rooms of the home where you can get away with just about anything. Breaking the rules is always an option when experimenting with bathroom colors, opening the door to all manner of bold and beautiful choices.
From reds to blues to greens to golds, nothing is out of the question when looking to create your own unique bathroom design from scratch. Just be sure to consider how your painted walls and ceilings will complement or contrast with your furniture and fixtures, which will have a major impact on the look and feel of the room.
Classic Black and White
If looking for the ultimate in timeless sophistication, you can always go with the classic black and white option. This has been one of the most on-trend and quintessentially stylish bathroom color combinations for generations, looking every bit as fantastic today as it did 70-80 years ago.
One of the best things about a black and white bathroom is that you know it’s going to be just as desirable several decades from now as it is today. A great way of sprucing up your interiors at an affordable price, while at the same time adding further appeal and market value to your property.
Subdued Pastels
Always remember that a bathroom doesn’t have to be blindingly bright with nothing but shiny and reflective surfaces. It can also be a much more subtle and subdued affair, with warming and cheerful pastels.
Opting for pastels can be great for creating a somewhat ‘outdoors indoors’ feel, making the perfect backdrop for plenty of green plants and wooden fixtures/features around the room. It’s also an extremely sophisticated and timeless choice for a classical or contemporary bathroom of any shape or size.
Textured Walls
Last but not least, textured bathroom walls can be extremely desirable and attractive. They can also be created in just about any configuration you prefer, ensuring you end up with something 100% unique to your home and your home alone.
However, we strongly advise thinking carefully about bringing textured walls into any room of the home. The reason being that while they can and often do look fantastic, going back from textured to smooth walls can be time-consuming and labor intensive. It’s not impossible – it just means that if you change your mind in the future, you’ll be looking at a way more involved DIY project than simply painting your walls in the normal way.
Ask the Experts…
Something as simple as a fresh coat of paint really can make all the difference to almost any type of bathroom. Irrespective of its shape, size, style or configuration, there’s endless scope for experimentation and creativity.
And again, there’s really no such thing as ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ where interior design is concerned – it’s all about personal taste and preferences.
Nevertheless, we know it can sometimes be difficult to make an informed decision, with such an array of potential options available.
